If you're ready for a great meal that you will probably not be able to finish, and friendly staff that will laugh WITH you for taking half of your meal home, this is the place! The restaurant sits close to the central business street in the busiest part of this small town, close to everything. They are one of the few restaurants that are open after 7 pm. Nick's is not for those looking for a trendy, high-end type of culinary experience. Nick's caters to those who are looking for really amazingly good food in a cozy place where the people, and what they serve you, make you feel at home. Their pizza is the best, and they make a point to explain their toppings go UNDER the cheese. They will not do it the other way around, and that's good because the end result is very yummy. You have to respect a kitchen with standards. Their onions rings are addictive, their house-baked buns make any sandwich a delight, and their shakes are the best. At the end of your meal, you'll be very full and so, so sorry you can't finish that mound of delicious stuff on your plate!

Fantastic pizza from a super cool local restaurant!
Conveniently located within a block of the best motel in Nakusp, Nick's is clearly a town establishment worth visiting. Cool older building, very cozy inside. I walked in and was greeted instantly. Though I was just a tourist, this place has a "everyone is a local and totally welcome" vibe.
I had ordered ahead of time, so my Hawaiian pizza was waiting for me. I chatted with the chef who must have been Nick, and we talked about the town a bit and how I'd chosen to eat his pizza because of the rave Yelp reviews. I could've stayed and talked for a while but then my pizza would've been cold!
The pizza was really tasty and you can tell he uses only high quality cheese and toppings. This is no sissy thin crust, either. It's a nice medium thick pizza with a tasty crust and zingy sauce.
Thanks Nick! If I ever get back that way, you will see me again! -

GREAT BURGER!!! Homemade patties and they bake their own buns. The house burger is 9oz of beef. Best burger I've had in a long time!!!

Stopped in Nakusp overnight on a motorcycle trip. Found Nick's place on yelp. They had been busy just before we got there. At first I thought the waitress was frazzled, but found out she was just sassy and funny both of which I like. Many locals came in while we were there which she called by first name and also sassed. She told us they were behind on pizzas and it could be up to an hour wait. It was worth it. Deep dish heaven with generous toppings and loads of cheese. Would definitely eat the pizza again. Small town charm and rustic flavor. Don't forget to shut the door when you come in or you'll be sorry. :)
